British singer Amy Winehouse treated for drug overdose, reports say
London (dpa) – British soul singer Amy Winehouse was admitted to hospital after she collapsed from a drug overdose, it was reported Thursday.
But management for the 23-year-old has made headlines for months over her excesses with alcohol, said her concerts were called off because of “heavy exhaustion, adding that Winehouse had been treated as an outpatient at a London clinic Wednesday and discharged.
Britain’s Sun newspaper said Thursday the singer had taken a drug overdose and that her stomach had been pumped. The emaciated singer who has been nominated for three MTV video awards, has admitted to having problems with drugs while battling the eating disorders of anorexia nervosa and bulimia. dpa bve
